Morroniside is an iridoid glycoside compound, mainly found in Cornus officinalis and elderberry medicinal materials. α-body, white powder, [α] D16-98° (c = 1, water); pentaacetylated is colorless needle-shaped crystals (ethanol), melting point 149-150°C, [α] D16-83° (Chemical book c = 1, chloroform). β-body, pentaacetylated is crystalline (ethanol), melting point 127-128°C. UVλmaxCH3OHnm (lgε): 240 (4.07).
